let’s start with the obvious. target stocks a wide variety of products that us moms need on the regular. lotions and potions. diapers and wipes. milk, allergy meds, crayons, laundry detergent, cereal, legos, paper towels, band aides, red wine and people magazine (which, of course, i would never buy, but skim cover to cover while in line).
but here’s another reason why target is special: they provide access to fashion basics and current trends at a reasonable price. on my regular weekly trip to restock our necessities, i can also pick-up a perfectly decent top to wear on date night or a cute pair of sunglasses that are totally on-trend. to be sure, there are other retailers who do this like zara and h&m. but we chat here about making style easier, and target epitomizes one-stop-shopping that includes not only eggs and printed sheets, but stylish wears that are worth a look.
the fashion industry (like everything else in life) is ever-changing, and gone are the days when you have to be wealthy to enjoy inspired fashion. there’s an entire industry dedicated to translating designer ideas and runway looks into affordable style at lightning speed. termed fast-fashion, you can now make a choice as to whether you want to spend $2000 on the au courant, red chloe crossbody or buy a fun, faux leather version for $24.99.
you know i’m a believer in investing in solid wardrobe choices that will stand the test of time. i support buying the best quality you can afford for clothing and accessory essentials you’ll wear season after season. but if you need a cotton white cami or you’re thinking about a fuchsia polka dot scarf, start at target; they have some cute stuff. see below for a few online treasures.
